A plan for a new weather-warning system that focuses on more specific locations rather than counties will not be in place this year, but some changes that "support more localised weather warnings" as part of the plan have been implemented.
The new system, which had been planned for rollout by the end of this year, is still in the consulting phase, according to Met Éireann.
The changes will see polygons or shapes on maps that will be used to focus on specific areas rather than entire counties being issued with warnings.
The Department of Housing, Local Government, and Heritage, previously said that the system will be "more relevant to communities", and that it will "will provide clearer direction to those at risk and support more targeted emergency preparedness" when implemented.
A spokesperson for Met Éireann said the consultation phase will see the plan put through focus groups, as well as more research and consultation with government departments.

It said that power will be restored to all remaining customers by this evening.
Northern Ireland Electricity Networks said power has been restored to all 12,500 customers affected.
