Two teenagers have been arrested in relation to a shooting in Manurewa on Saturday.
Armed police found a revolver after stopping what Detective Senior Sergeant Kevin Tiernan described as a "vehicle of interest" in Manurewa at 10.30pm on Monday.
"An armed vehicle stop was conducted, and the occupants were taken into custody without issue," Tiernan said.
"A search of the vehicle located a black revolver firearm inside."
Tiernan said police believed both the car and gun were used in the shooting in Manurewa.
He said an 18-year-old would appear in Manukau District Court on Tuesday and a 17 year-old had been referred to Youth Aid Services.
