Alfriston College in South Auckland is in lockdown following a reported assault.

Police confirmed three people reported being assaulted around 1.19pm, though none are seriously injured.

The school placed itself into a precautionary lockdown.

A message on the school's website urges parents not to come to or phone the school.

"You will not be attended to, and doing so may disrupt the management of the situation and could place you, our staff or our students at risk."

Police stopped a vehicle in the nearby area and are speaking with its occupants in relation to the incident.
