The All Progressives Congress candidate for Tarauni Federal Constituency, Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji, has pledged to prioritise education, healthcare and youth empowerment if elected in the 2027 general elections, saying his legislative agenda will focus on improving the welfare and economic conditions of his constituents.

Ja’oji made the pledge on Wednesday, during the inauguration of the APC Presidential, Gubernatorial, Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly Campaign Council for Tarauni Local Government Area of the state.

The politician, who also claimed to have spent close to N2bn on settling hospital bills and providing family assistance to constituents, cited estimates by Triumph Newspaper, while highlighting his previous interventions in education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic empowerment.

“My previous empowerment initiatives included the distribution of 100 motorcycles and N125m in cash grants to 2,500 beneficiaries across the 10 wards of Tarauni Federal Constituency. The interventions were intended to promote self-reliance and support small businesses,” Ja’oji said.

He also disclosed that he had implemented a N50m empowerment programme in 2024, through which 1,000 youths and women from Tarauni and other parts of Kano State received N50,000 each to support their businesses.

“Other beneficiaries included four people who received N1m each, 200 others who got N100,000 each, and another 100 who received N50,000 each under a separate grant initiative,” he added.

On education, Ja’oji said he had supported hundreds of students with registration fees for tertiary institutions and paid examination fees for thousands of candidates sitting the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examination and National Examinations Council examinations through the M. Nasir Foundation.

He equally pointed out that he had organised computer literacy and information and communications technology training for hundreds of youths in Tarauni, while promising to expand educational opportunities if elected.

“My strongest cardinal principle when elected is to put education first, second and third, as my priority. All other sectors like health, empowerment programmes, and economic self-reliance will also take the lead. My attention will also be on youth and women development,” he said.

He stressed that the consensus had helped create a peaceful political atmosphere in the constituency, adding that he had also contributed to strengthening the party’s structures through the provision of 12 vehicles for its local government, ward and caucus activities.

“Our mission is clear: build a stronger APC, promote responsible leadership, and ensure the continued progress of Tarauni Local Government, Kano State, and Nigeria at large,” he told members of the campaign council.

Ja’oji urged members of the council to embrace unity, discipline and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections, stressing that their responsibilities should extend beyond campaigning to listening to constituents and addressing their concerns.

The politician also pledged to support the political ambitions of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other APC candidates, while calling for peaceful political participation and greater cooperation among party stakeholders.
