The Kebbi State Government has inaugurated an All Progressives Congress Stakeholders’ Reconciliation Committee to resolve internal disagreements and strengthen the party ahead of forthcoming elections.

The committee was inaugurated on Thursday by Governor Nasir Idris, represented by his deputy, Senator Umar Tafida, who charged members to ensure that aggrieved party members were reconciled and the party’s unity restored.

The governor urged the committee to discharge its responsibilities with fairness, commitment and a sense of responsibility, stressing that internal cohesion was essential to the party’s electoral success.

He said every aggrieved member should be given the opportunity to express their grievances, adding that party leaders must prioritise collective interests over personal differences.

According to him, constructive dialogue, mutual understanding and inclusive engagement would help strengthen the party’s structures and improve its chances in forthcoming elections.

The chairman of the committee, retired General Magoro, pledged to work towards resolving disputes and rebuilding confidence among party members.

He said the committee would adopt an inclusive approach by listening to aggrieved members, identifying the causes of disagreements and facilitating lasting solutions.

Magoro disclosed that the committee would visit all 21 local government areas of the state to engage party officials, stakeholders and other relevant groups.

He said the visits would enable the committee to assess grievances at the grassroots and develop recommendations for strengthening the party.
