A group of supporters in Rivers State has pledged to mobilise three million votes for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
According to a statement made available to PUNCH Online on Sunday, the pledge was made on Saturday during a political gathering at the 40,000-capacity Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, where thousands of supporters converged to demonstrate their support for the President.
Tinubu, First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President, Rivers State APC Presidential Campaign Council Coordinator, Nyesom Wike, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and other prominent dignitaries were among those welcomed to the stadium amid cheers from the crowd.
The event featured colourful displays, solidarity chants and expressions of support for the Tinubu administration, with participants pledging to strengthen the President’s political base across Rivers State.
A major highlight of the mobilisation was the involvement of Dr Betta Edu and members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Women Mobilisation Directorate, who took the First Lady’s grassroots mobilisation initiative to communities across the state.
The team engaged women from different communities, markets and rural households across the local government areas, encouraging greater participation in political and community activities.
As part of the outreach, the delegation also visited hospitals in Port Harcourt to engage with women, children and vulnerable groups through medical and humanitarian activities.
The Women Mobilisation Directorate said the initiative was designed to take political engagement beyond stadium rallies by reaching households, markets and communities directly.
The mobilisation, anchored on the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and the grassroots engagement vision of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, also seeks to strengthen women’s participation in the political process.
During the engagements, traders, market women, youths and community leaders were encouraged to participate actively in community mobilisation and voter sensitisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dr Betta Edu, Co-Director of the APC PCC Women Mobilisation Directorate, has been spearheading the outreach through medical interventions, market engagements and grassroots mobilisation in line with the First Lady’s vision.
The three-million-vote pledge represents the stated commitment of the participating Rivers State supporters to mobilise for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
