TDP leader promotes green campaigning in Tirupati by gifting saplings to voters

While several novel methods are adopted to encourage voters to cast their vote and nudge them to support a candidate, here is a greener alternative chosen by a senior leader, who, actually, is not in the fray.

As part of his campaign for the party Mayor nominee J.B. Srinivas and other corporator candidates, senior TDP leader Ajay Pratap is presenting saplings to the public, with the twin requests to cast their vote in favour of his party candidate and to plant the sapling at their residential premises.

Mr. Pratap says presenting saplings is a moral responsibility of every individual, as planting a tree can never be treated as a ‘personal favour’ to the voter. According to him, exercising one’s right to vote is as important as planting a sapling, as ‘both makes our lives better’.
