Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said an updated version of the Real Estate Tax mobile application would be launched soon to make tax services more accessible to citizens, stressing that tax incentives and facilitation measures were part of an ongoing process rather than a one-off package.
Speaking at the annual conference of the Scientific Association for Tax Legislation, attended by Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA), Kouchouk said the authority was leading the tax reform process, guided by a firm commitment to simplifying procedures and facilitating services for its partners in the business community.
“I am pleased that the Egyptian Tax Authority is reviewing its decisions to make procedures more flexible and straightforward,” he said.
Kouchouk noted that 90% of tax reforms had originated from the tax community and addressed its challenges through practical, implementable solutions. He added that the government aimed to expand digital tax services to make procedures easier for both investors and citizens.
He also said that tax sukuk were intended to provide the greatest possible benefits to the government’s long-standing partners who consistently meet their tax obligations.
“Thank you to the business community for its swift response. Together, we achieved a 27% increase in tax revenues last year without imposing any additional burdens,” he said.
