TMG named world’s best golf developer, Madinaty tops Africa

Talaat Moustafa Group (TMG) has been named the World’s Best Golf Hospitality Developer at the World Golf Awards, a competition that drew representatives from around 80 countries.

Madinaty Golf Club, one of the group’s clubs, also won two awards: Egypt’s Best Golf Course and Africa’s Best Golf Course. The club has now held the Egypt title for six consecutive years and the Africa title for four consecutive years, a record that reflects the quality of its design, facilities, and services.

The awards were presented at Madinaty Golf Club, the first time the World Golf Awards ceremony has been held in Africa. The event highlights Egypt’s growing standing as a global golf destination and its capacity to host major international sporting events, while supporting high-spending tourism.

Commenting on the wins, Omar Hesham Talaat, CEO of Business Development at TMG and President of the Egyptian Golf Federation, said the awards represent international recognition of the group’s vision and strategy, which aim to create integrated global destinations combining exceptional living, leisure, hospitality, and sports experiences.

He added that Madinaty Golf Club is a successful example of turning this vision into reality, having established itself among Africa’s leading golf destinations thanks to its world-class facilities and comprehensive sporting experience. He noted that the club is managed by Troon, a global company specialising in the management of golf courses and facilities.

Talaat also pointed out that the group is investing in a new generation of distinctive sports and tourism destinations. These include the Red Sea Links course in Sharm El-Sheikh, a new golf course at South Med on the Mediterranean coast, and the redevelopment of the historic Mena House golf course, located in front of the Giza Pyramids. He said the redevelopment will preserve the course’s long heritage while offering a golf experience unlike any other in the world.
