Earlier Thursday, Prime Video announced a second season renewal for Carrie. Now there’s publicly available data backing up the decision.

Carrie premiered as the No. 1 streaming title in the United States for the week of Oct. 5-11. The eight-episode season, a present-day update of Stephen King’s novel from showrunner Mike Flanagan, racked up 1.26 billion viewing minutes for the week (the series debuted on Oct. 7).

Prime Video has been on a bit of a hot streak lately: It has had the No. 1 overall title six times in the past eight weeks of Nielsen’s streaming ratings. Reacher held the top ranking four times in August and September, giving way to spinoff Neagley in the week of Sept. 14-20.

Also opening well in the Oct. 5-11 frame was Netflix’s Below. The thriller starring Josh Hartnett had 1.19 billion minutes of watch time, good for second overall. East of Eden grew by 49 percent week to week to 1.16 billion minutes, which put in third place.

The previous week’s top show, Wonka’s The Golden Ticket, fell off by 44 percent to 600 million viewing minutes for Netflix. It dropped out of the overall top 10 but finished sixth among original series.

Two shows got a boost from licensing deals with Netflix: Paramount+’s Mayor of Kingstown (740 million minutes) and Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians (365 million) charted after their libraries debuted on Netflix (new seasons of both, in their original homes, will premiere in the next few months). Ben Affleck’s Animals, which premiered Oct. 9 on Netflix, led the movie top 10 with 719 million minutes.

Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover viewing on TV sets only and don’t include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. The ratings only measure U.S. audiences. The top streaming titles for Oct. 5-11, 2026, are below.
