The powerful sister of North Korea’s leader has a familiar message for Donald Trump, as the U.S. president angles for a possible meeting with her brother later this month: abandon your “hostile policy” or there will be no sit-down.
The remarks by Kim Yo Jong published Wednesday in North Korean state-run media poured cold water on Trump’s hopes of meeting with her brother later this month on the sidelines of an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China.
“It is our clear stand that we have no need to sit face-to-face with such unreliable and hostile persons who refuse to abandon their policy of confrontation while talking about dialogue,” Kim said, according to the North’s official Korean Central News Agency.
