Neve Campbell Says As Far As ‘Scream 8’ Goes, “I”ll Be In It”; Latest Installment Still In Development

Spyglass Media and Paramount’s Scream 8 doesn’t even have a director yet, but franchise star Neve Campbell made it clear that she’s returning as Sidney Prescott (now Evans).

The actress, who lives in London, told the AP that she has “Scream 8; that’s in the pipeline as well.”

“You know I can’t tell you anything about Scream 8,” said the actress, “I’ll be in it.”

Campbell starred in six out of the seven Screams, taking a break for 2023’s Scream VI. Her return in Scream 7 earlier this year drove the movie to the 30 year old franchise’s biggest opening ever with $97.2M worldwide, not to mention, it became the highest grossing movie in the series with $208M WW.

In Scream 7 Sidney is married and dealing with a situation where her daughter Tatum is now the target of Ghostface. Scream 7 saw the return of franchise actors Courteney Cox and Matthew Lillard.

It’s our understanding that Scream 8 remains in development. We told you first that Lilla and Nora Zuckerman are writing the eighth-quel. The Zuckerman sisters most recently served as showrunners for the hit Peacock series Poker Face and have worked as writers and co-executive producers on popular series including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, Fringe and Prodigal Son.
