Following the news that Marvel has the spy thriller series Zodiac in the works at Disney+, Amit Cohen and Ron Leshem have been set as the show’s writers, we hear.
When the new show was announced on October 8, details were scant. The story will follow a pair of spies who are chasing targets who have special abilities, sources tell Deadline. As we previously reported, the show is expected to premiere in 2028, with production beginning in 2027.
Leshem served as a creator of the original Israeli Euphoria series and its HBO adaptation from Sam Levin starring Zendaya. Alongside Cohen, they created and executive produced multiple Israeli shows, including Trust No One, Bad Boy, 8200, Red Skies, and Traitor.
Zodiac will join a waning live-action TV slate at Marvel, where many of the franchise’s most popular titles have either already ended or soon will. The WandaVision trilogy is coming to its conclusion later this month with VisionQuest, which premiered on October 13 and will continue to air weekly until all 8 episodes are dropped on November 10.
Daredevil: Born Again, which welcomed several beloved characters back into the MCU, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, will end with Season 3 next year. Wonder Man was a one-season series, as Marvel opted not to renew the series for a second season. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who played the titular superhero, received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The nod was the first for Marvel since the studio’s success with WandaVision.
