Mansour Group targets Q1 2027 completion for electric vehicle plant in 6th of October City

Mansour Automotive Group expects to complete the construction of its new “MAC for Transport Vehicles Manufacturing” plant in 6th of October City by the first quarter of 2027, focusing on the production of electric vehicles (EVs) and their components.

The timeline was outlined during a meeting between Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Mansour Group officials in the New Administrative Capital on Tuesday evening to review the project’s progress.

Mansour Group Chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour stated that the factory aims to meet the Egyptian market’s demand for EVs and will create thousands of jobs. He noted that significant progress has been made since construction began in late 2025, adding that the facility utilises advanced, eco-friendly technologies to support industry localisation and is positioned to become a major automotive facility in the region and Africa.

Madbouly highlighted the National Automotive Industry Development Programme, affirming the government’s support for the sector and its supply chain as part of a state plan to localise manufacturing, transfer technology, and attract foreign direct investment.

Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem said expanding the manufacturing of EVs, batteries, and related components is an industrial priority for the upcoming period. He noted the expansion aims to meet growing domestic demand while aligning with the state’s strategy to increase reliance on environmentally friendly transportation.

Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid affirmed his ministry’s readiness to provide the necessary support and facilitate procedures to ensure the project’s completion.

Mansour thanked the government for its support of the industrial sector, praising President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s vision for achieving development across industrial sectors under Egypt Vision 2030, despite regional and international challenges.

The meeting was also attended by Mansour Automotive CEO Ankush Arora, Man Capital Strategic Advisor Oliver Dowden, and other company officials.
