Kimmarie Johnson, a model and actress who appeared in “Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Dude, Where’s My Car?” and more, died Wednesday, Nov. 4, after suffering a “heart event” at her Los Angeles home on Oct. 27. She was 50.
Johnson had been taken to Cedars-Sinai Hospital and was diagnosed with a “heart aneurysm condition.” “She radiated a light so strong and bright,” her niece Rhonda Scott said in a statement to People. “People who came in contact with her felt nothing but positive energy. We will miss her tremendously and will continue to honor her life forever.”
Johnson was also a model who won the title of Miss Pennsylvania and competed in the Miss USA beauty pageant in 1993. She was born on April 8, 1976, in Pittsburgh, Penn. She studied elementary education and child psychology at California University of Pennsylvania before moving to New York City and pursuing a career in modeling. After modeling for brands like Vidal Sassoon, Oscar de la Renta and United Colors of Benetton, she won Miss Pennsylvania without any prior pageant experience. Johnson then finished in the top five of the Miss USA 1993 competition.
In 1996, she moved to Los Angeles to continue modeling and start her acting career. She booked her first major TV part on an episode of “Beverly Hills, 90210” and her first movie role in the 2000 comedy “Dude, Where’s My Car?” as “Alien Jumpsuit Chick #5.” She also appeared in “Carman: The Champion,” “The Summer of Massacre,” “VIP,” “Wanda at Large” and more.
In 2011, Johnson founded the skin care and beauty brand SkinGlow by Kimmarie.
