TeamLab, the Japanese digital art collective famous for its immersive exhibitions, is set to open its first permanent space in the U.S.

On Thursday, Bloomberg reported that the Samueli family, the billionaire owners of NHL team the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, had struck a more than $100 million deal with TeamLab to open a space in Anaheim, California that is projected to open in 2030. The space will be part of a larger $5 billion development of the land surrounding the Ducks’ home the Honda Center.

TeamLab will be a key component of the OCVIBE development that is converting about 100 acres of land into a multiuse area, with housing, offices, hotels and an entertainment district. Bloomberg reported that the development of TeamLab Anaheim will be fully funded by the Samueli family. TeamLab Anaheim will be housed in a building designed by California-based architecture firm Smith-Clementi.

Founded in Tokyo in 2001 by Toshiyuki Inoko, TeamLab is an international art collective, made up of a multi-disciplinary team, including artists, programmers, engineers, CG animators, mathematicians, and architects who collaborate to explore the intersection of art, science, technology, and nature.

TeamLab Anaheim will be 30 miles south of Los Angeles, and about a 10-minute drive from Disneyland. The developers will be hoping it will be as popular and pop culturally relevant as other TeamLab spaces around the world. According to TeamLab, the collective’s two locations in Tokyo had over 4.2 million visitors in 2025. TeamLab currently has permanent exhibition spaces in Macao, Shanghai, Beijing, Jeddah and Hamburg.

As part of the announcement for TeamLab Anaheim, the developers also revealed a series of renders of the space, which you can see below.
