On Nov. 4, the event featuring more than 260 wines rated 92 points or higher from130 producers across 40 regions returns to Tokyo. | JAMES SUCKLING GREAT WINES WORLD

Oct 25, 2026

At last year’s Great Wines World Tokyo event, wine talk flowed as freely as the pours. Attendees knew their pinot noir from their pinot gris and were equally comfortable asking producers about everything from maceration to microvinification.

For an event of this stature and popularity, though, the three-hour duration felt a little short.

Since its inaugural edition in 2024, Great Wines World, the brainchild of American wine critic James Suckling, has become a marquee event on Tokyo’s wine calendar — the previous two editions sold out. This year’s edition, sold out apart from a waitlist, returns to the Grand Hyatt Tokyo on Nov. 4.
