SEOUL, Nov. 2 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's biggest carmaker, said Monday its sales fell 6.3 percent from a year earlier in October, due to sluggish demand at home and abroad.

Hyundai Motor sold 329,773 vehicles last month, down from 352,083 units a year earlier, the company said in a press release.

Domestic sales dropped 8.9 percent on-year to 49,042 units, while overseas sales shed 5.9 percent to 280,731 units.

From January to October, cumulative sales declined 6.9 percent on-year to 3,218,586 vehicles.

To revive sales, Hyundai Motor said it plans to optimize production and introduce new models, including a revamped Tucson sport utility vehicle (SUV) and hybrid versions of the GV80 luxury SUV.
