Future Games Show will go live and in person for the first time ever during next year’s Gamescom in Germany, the world’s largest annual video game trade fair and consumer event.
Taking place Aug. 25, 2027 in Cologne, the city that has long hosted Gamescom activities, the first in-person Future Games Show event will coincide with the Aug. 23-29 schedule for Gamescom 2027.
Future Games Show’s move beyond a digital format follows the event’s biggest year to date, which generated more than 50 million total live views across its broadcasts, according to Future. Since its launch in 2020, the showcase has become a destination for players to discover upcoming games, connecting developers and publishers with gaming audiences around the world.
“Future Games Show has built an incredible global community around the excitement of discovering new games,” Future Games Show and digital showcases content director Dan Dawkins said. “Following our biggest year yet, we’re excited to take the next step in the show’s evolution by bringing that experience to life in person. This is an opportunity to connect players, creators and our partners in an entirely new way, while continuing to build on the momentum created by the show’s track record of breaking brand new games.”
Additional details about Future Games show’s Cologne event will be announced in the coming months.
