KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 2 — The Education Ministry (MOE) will provide four days of hybrid lectures for trainee teachers at Institute of Teacher Education (IPG) campuses in conjunction with Deepavali.
Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek said the facility would be available from November 9 to 12 for Group A, comprising Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, and from November 10 to 13 for Group B, covering Perlis, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang, Sabah and the Federal Territories.
“Through this arrangement, trainee teachers returning home to celebrate Deepavali can continue attending lectures online. IPG campuses may also apply for additional leave and replacement holidays if necessary,” she said in a Facebook post today.
She said the measure would ensure that trainee teachers could continue their studies while spending time with their families during the festival.
Fadhlina also extended her Deepavali greetings to all trainee teachers and their families celebrating the festival.
Deepavali, also known as the Festival of Lights, falls on November 8 this year and is an important Hindu festival symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. — Bernama
