PETALING JAYA, Oct 25 — Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek has directed the Perak Education Department (JPN) to investigate allegations that a school principal sexually harassed a student.
She said the principal has also been temporarily reassigned to the Bagan Datuk District Education Office (PPD) pending the outcome of the investigation, as reported by Harian Metro (HM).
“The Perak JPN has been instructed to conduct an investigation. The principal has also been placed temporarily at the Bagan Datuk PPD until the investigation is completed,” Fadhlina was quoted as saying.
Her response came after a viral social media post warned parents and residents in Teluk Intan to remain vigilant following allegations involving a principal at a government secondary school.
The post alleged that the principal had sexually harassed a Form Three female student, including by sending her romantic messages, and also made claims of an inappropriate relationship.
It urged the authorities and the public to treat the matter seriously, calling for a thorough investigation in the interest of student safety.
