Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, has announced the pilot launch of self-service kiosks for investors, enabling them to obtain a range of company documents independently, 24 hours a day.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of his participation in the Cairo International Technology Exhibition and Conference (Cairo ICT 2026), attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.

The initiative implements recommendations from the Egypt Forum 2026 on continuing to digitalise government services for citizens and investors.

It also forms part of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade’s plan to expand its digital services and simplify procedures related to company establishment and business operations.

The initiative aims to provide greater flexibility in completing transactions, reduce the time and effort required to access services, and ensure their availability around the clock, without restrictions imposed by official working hours.

Farid stressed that the pilot launch represents a practical step towards implementing the ministry’s plan to improve investment services through expanded electronic service delivery, simplified procedures and stronger integration among relevant government authorities.

These measures are designed to facilitate the investor journey at different stages of company establishment and operation.

He explained that the ministry is simultaneously developing several digital projects, including a platform for capital increase procedures and an economic entities platform.

The ministry is also preparing to announce amendments to the executive regulations of the Companies Law, which will expand the use of digital technologies in delivering certain investor services.

These changes aim to eliminate duplicated procedures and excessive documentation requirements while improving the efficiency of the business environment.

Farid noted that expanding access to services through self-service kiosks reflects the ministry’s approach to diversifying the channels through which investment services are delivered.

The kiosks will enable investors to obtain documents and complete transactions directly and with greater flexibility.

He emphasised that the objective is to ensure that digital transformation delivers tangible improvements to the experience of investors and citizens through simpler procedures and faster, more accessible services.

The self-service kiosks will enable investors to issue and print certified true copies of several company documents, including articles of association, certificates of incorporation and establishment documents for sole proprietorships.

The services will be provided through electronic procedures, allowing investors to obtain the required documents without interacting with staff or being restricted by official working hours.

The kiosks will use electronic identity verification mechanisms, including national identity cards for Egyptian citizens and passport verification for foreign investors.

The process involves electronically reading and matching personal data through biometric verification and facial recognition technologies.

Additional verification procedures will also be implemented in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure the security and integrity of document issuance.

For his part, Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), explained that the authority plans to gradually deploy the self-service kiosks across its 15 Investor Service Centres nationwide, as well as at several other government entities involved in investment services.

The expansion aims to broaden access to the services provided through the kiosks and make them more convenient for investors.

Awad added that GAFI is preparing to introduce a document delivery service for investors in cooperation with Egypt Post under a cooperation protocol.

The service will allow company documents to be delivered to an address specified by the investor, with delivery targeted within the same working day.
