D Developments has officially launched operations in Egypt through an Egyptian-Saudi partnership, with plans to develop four projects in Obour City and an initial targeted investment portfolio of EGP 15bn.

The company’s shareholder structure brings together expertise in real estate development and engineering consultancy, alongside investment capabilities, to support its expansion plans and build a diversified project portfolio.

The partnership brings together Egyptian investors and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hokail Group, which is seeking to expand its regional investments and enter the Egyptian market by combining its experience in Saudi Arabia with the local expertise of its Egyptian partners.

Sheikh Ibrahim Al-Hokail, a Saudi investor and representative of the group, said the decision to invest in Egypt followed an assessment of the country’s economic fundamentals, market size and opportunities across various sectors.

He added that Obour City was selected as the company’s starting point because of its established urban infrastructure, services, population base and demand for real estate products, offering opportunities beyond further urban expansion.

Al-Hokail noted that the partnership aims to combine investment and opportunity-assessment expertise with local knowledge of real estate development and engineering consultancy, supporting a measured expansion strategy.

Ahmed Kassem, CEO of D Developments, said the company would focus on opportunities that match market demand and offer clear growth potential.

He added that the company’s strategy extends beyond launching individual projects to building a real estate business capable of achieving long-term growth and expansion.

Kassem noted that the Egyptian-Saudi partnership would support project planning and decision-making by combining local market knowledge with investment capabilities. He added that the company would prioritise clear investment plans, assessing market needs and selecting suitable project locations and property types.

The company plans to announce further details of the four projects, including their components and implementation timelines, in phases over the coming period.
