EXCLUSIVE: Chloë Levine, an actress known for her work on shows like Netflix’s The OA and Trinkets, is set to star in Your Heart is a Hummingbird, a semi-autobiographical indie drama written and directed by former adult film actress SM Goldberger.

In Your Heart is a Hummingbird, Levine plays successful adult film star Rebekah Rosenberg — aka Bex Bacall — who upon learning of her mother’s cancer diagnosis, finds her very carefully separated worlds collide forcing her to reconcile the girl she was with the woman she’s becoming.

Goldberger told us, “Rebekah was an incredibly difficult role to cast. Not only because this is her movie, but because she’s a character who holds a lot close to her chest. The moment I met Chloë, I knew she was perfect. — she’s been a stunning balance of subtle, emotional, and raw, so incredible to work with, and overjoyed doesn’t even begin to capture how I feel.”

Your Heart is a Hummingbird was developed through the 2024 Antigravity Academy Screenwriters Camp and is currently shooting in Los Angeles. Winsor Yuan, Chelsea Davenport (Bubble & Squeak) and Kimberly Hwang are the film’s producers.

An actor and filmmaker based in New York, Levine recently wrapped a role alongside Kerry Washington and Colman Domingo in the Netflix thriller An Innocent Girl from Carry-On‘s Jaume Collet-Serra. Other upcoming projects include Warner Bros.’ Taylor Sheridan-penned F.A.S.T and Divine Blood, an indie drama where she stars opposite Lena Headey and Robin Tunney. She is repped by Innovative Artists and Carolyn Anthony of Anthony & Associates, Ltd.

A Gainesville, Florida native, Goldberger has spent more than a decade working in the adult industry, where they won Director of the Year twice for their films with feminist producer Erika Lust. Their short film hi mom premiered in competition at the 2026 Palm Springs ShortFest. They served as an industry consultant on Neon’s Pleasure and Sean Baker’s acclaimed A24 film Red Rocket and have had their writing as a sex work advocate published by outlets like The New York Times. They are repped by M88.
