Chase Sui Wonders is being circled to join filmmaker David Mikalson’s Goblin for A24, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Wonders, known for her roles in The Studio and I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot, will join previously announced castmembers Kenneth Branagh, who has been tapped to voice the titular Goblin, Skyler Gisondo and Will Forte. Though the film’s plot details are being kept under wraps, it’s set to be a raunchy comedy.
The genre seems right up Wonders’ alley, as she spoke highly of comedies in an interview with THR last year, ahead of The Studio season one’s release. “I remember coming of age to Pineapple Express and being like, ‘This is what’s waiting for me in my adult life,'” the actress recalled of her love of Seth Rogen’s body of work. “And I’ll stand by my opinion that This Is the End is the last great American comedy.”
Coming off the Emmy-winning The Studio, Wonders will return as assistant-turned-executive Quinn Hackett in season two next year.
“They really let me be a freak in this show, and that was so liberating, and it empowered me to embrace my inner court jester,” Wonders previously told THR of her experience on the Rogen-led series. “I just want to do more of this, because at the end of the day it’s just really fun to laugh.”
She’s also next starring in A24’s Slayground from Jeremy Saulnier, which will release on Jan. 29, 2027, and is currently in production on Olivia Wilde’s holiday comedy Naughty, where she’s starring opposite Jennifer Aniston and Peter Dinklage.
Wonders is repped by UTA and Sloane Offer Weber & Dern.
