Arthur McAlpine III (Watson, War Dawgz) has a recurring role in the upcoming Black Rodeo drama series from Starz. The eight-episode family drama comes from Demascus showrunner Kirk A. Moore, who serves as showrunner and executive producer; Breaking Bad executive producer Mark Johnson; and Counterpart Studios.

The as-yet-untitled series will be infused with hip hop swagger and country soul and unfolds in Southeast Texas, where rodeo isn’t just what you do – it’s who you are. At the center are three siblings bound by the legacy their mother built and the unfinished business their father left behind. Driven by their own ambitions and drawn into each other’s orbit, alliances shift, relationships tangle, and nothing stays private for long.

McAlpine III joins the previously announced leads DeWanda Wise, Tian Richards, Marcus Mitchell, Shannon Wallace, Curtiss Cook, Lauren E. Banks, Liv Symone, and Jason Dirden.

In addition to Moore, Mark Johnson and Myki Bajaj of Gran Via Productions, and Tony Hernandez, Elise Henderson and Lilly Burns of Counterpart Studios also serve as executive producers. Giovanna Desselle, VP of Original Programming, and Christina Jokanovich, SVP of Original Programming, are the executives overseeing the series for Starz.

McAlpine III has appeared on NBC’s Law & Order, CBS’s Watson, and The CW’s All American. His film credits include a supporting role in War Dawgz, directed by Kevin Grevioux, as well as leading roles in What Freedom, directed by Paul James, and The Understudies, directed by Nick Galarza. He also appears in a supporting role in Savage Girls, directed by Trudy Sargent. McAlpine III is repped by Artium Talent, Luber Roklin Entertainment, and attorney Ryan LeVine.
