BAFTA has a new chair.

UKTV commissioning boss Hilary Rosen will succeed Sara Putt at the UK awards body after Putt’s three-year term runs down.

Rosen has been Deputy Chair for the past year and will be succeeded in that role by Ade Rawcliffe and Andrew Miller.

Rosen is a well-regarded TV commissioner who has risen up the ranks at BBC Studios-owned UKTV to become Director of Commissioning, leading its slate of original scripted and unscripted content like Mark Gatiss’ Bookish and Mitford Sisters drama Outrageous.

Rosen said: “I have long been passionate about everything BAFTA does to promote the screen arts and champion talent across the screen industries, so it is a great privilege to take on the role of BAFTA Chair. I am delighted to be able to do this alongside our newly appointed committee chairs.”

Those new chairs are Charu Desdot and Caroline Levy, who will chair BAFTA’s Games and Television Committees, while Nahrein Kemp will take up the role of LIT Committee Chair. Additionally, Shrina Shah, Chair of the Governance and Appointments committee will join the BAFTA Board of Trustees.

BAFTA holds TV and film awards each year plus runs training programs and events.
