President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on Wednesday called for transforming the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) into an industrial integration platform that brings together its manufacturing capabilities, private-sector expertise and foreign investment, with a focus on deepening local manufacturing, transferring technology and expanding exports.
Al-Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Mohamed Abdel Fattah Abu Bakr, Chairman of the AOI, who presented the organisation’s development strategy and plans to expand the technological and manufacturing capabilities of its factories, as well as its civilian and military projects, according to a presidency statement.
The presidency said the organisation is working to localise new manufacturing technologies, supply various industrial sectors and open additional export markets, while participating in development projects in several African countries.
Abu Bakr also reviewed the AOI’s projects in mass transit, freight transport and light transportation, alongside plans to expand partnerships with private companies and international manufacturers and attract further industrial investment.
Al-Sisi directed the organisation to deepen local manufacturing, localise technology, attract domestic and foreign investment, expand production capacity and strengthen partnerships with the private sector.
He stressed that the AOI should serve as an industrial integration platform combining state manufacturing capabilities with private-sector expertise and foreign investment to enhance Egypt’s industrial competitiveness.
