Put away the jandals, sunhats and sunblock; winter is back.
A late-spring South Island weather switcheroo has seen the high temperatures of earlier this week replaced by snow, closing part of two major highways.
Thunderstorms and small hail are also possible for parts of both islands today, MetService said.
