President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, for the Umrah pilgrimage.
A video of the arrival showed the President landing at the King Abdulaziz International Airport on Thursday.
He was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Yakubu Gambo, and Saudi Arabia’s Head of Royal Protocol, Ahmad bin Thafir.
Tinubu left Abuja for the trip after the Presidency announced it in a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, dated October 28, 2026.
The statement said the President would perform the religious rites of Umrah in Makkah, “seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.”
According to the Presidency, the visit offers him an opportunity for spiritual reflection and prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the spiritual exercise.
