Former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience; Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun; and other dignitaries attended the wedding reception of Nigerian singer, Damilola Afolabi, popularly known as L.A.X, and his wife, Emmanuella.
The reception, hosted by the groom’s father and Chairman of SIFAX Group, Taiwo Afolabi, was held on Sunday, November 1, at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Other political figures at the event included former Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun.
Traditional rulers in attendance included the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom, Oba Saheed Elegushi; and the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi.
The entertainment industry was represented by musicians Blaqbonez, Skiibii and Fola; actresses Priscilla Ojo and Sotayo Gaga; comedian Shank Comics; and content creators Asherkine and Ola of Lagos, among others.
L.A.X gained prominence in 2013 after featuring on Wizkid’s hit song, Caro. He later collaborated with the singer on Ginger and released several other songs and albums. He is also the founder of Rasaki Music Group.
The Lagos reception followed other wedding ceremonies held by the couple. They had earlier held their family introduction in Warri, Delta State, in June, followed by a civil wedding in Malta on September 16.
They also held their Islamic marriage ceremony, known as the Nikkah, on October 29, ahead of the grand reception in Lagos.
