YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul will return to the ring on December 24 in Dubai, nearly a year after suffering a knockout defeat to former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

The 29-year-old American announced his comeback on Thursday, confirming that he would headline a Christmas Eve boxing event, although his opponent has yet to be named.

Paul has not fought since Joshua stopped him in the sixth round of their heavyweight bout in Miami on December 19, 2025. He suffered a fractured jaw in the fight and underwent multiple surgeries.

In a post on X, Paul said the defeat had not weakened his belief in himself or his ambitions.

“All I want for Christmas Eve is boxing in Dubai. I’ve spent years proving people wrong, taking risks, and pushing myself against opponents nobody thought I’d face. Nothing that’s happened has changed my belief in myself or what I’m working toward.

“I’m hungrier than ever, and on Thursday, December 24, I’m returning to the ring in Dubai to start the next chapter of my journey,” he said.

Paul said several potential opponents were being considered but did not disclose any names.

“We’ve got plenty of names on the list; let’s see who signs the contract. Merry Christmas, Dubai. Santa Paul is coming to town, and somebody’s getting knocked out,” he said.

According to his promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions, further details, including Paul’s opponent, will be announced in the coming weeks.

Paul has a professional record of 12 wins and two defeats, with his only losses coming against Joshua and British boxer Tommy Fury.
