Hyundai Motors Nigeria has expanded its sport utility vehicle portfolio with the launch of Hyundai Mufasa and Grand Creta, targeting families and professionals seeking greater comfort, versatility and modern technology in their vehicles.
The two models broaden the company’s offerings in a market where motorists increasingly consider passenger space, safety, performance and convenience when choosing vehicles for daily commuting, family trips and business engagements.
Speaking to journalists at a press briefing over the weekend, Hyundai Motors Nigeria’s General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Gaurav Vashisht, said the new SUVs demonstrated the company’s commitment to adapting to evolving customer preferences.
Vashisht said, “The SUV segment continues to attract strong interest in Nigeria, as customers increasingly prioritise comfort, safety, technology and versatility.
“With the introduction of the Hyundai Mufasa and Grand Creta, we are offering two distinctive vehicles designed to meet different lifestyle requirements while maintaining Hyundai’s global standards of quality and innovation.”
According to him, the Mufasa is positioned as a five-seater SUV for motorists seeking contemporary styling, practical interior space and responsive performance.
“Its exterior features a bold front grille, distinctive LED lighting and muscular proportions, giving it a commanding road presence,” he added.
Under the bonnet, the vehicle features a 2.0-litre Smartstream petrol engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
He added that the vehicle produces between 150 and 160 horsepower, depending on the specification, making it well-suited for both city driving and long-distance highway trips.

He also stated that the cabin combines a modern dashboard and digital displays with practical storage and seating arrangements.
He added that safety equipment, subject to specification, includes airbags, anti-lock braking, electronic stability control and parking assistance.
He further explained that for larger households, the Grand Creta offers a different proposition, with three rows of seats accommodating up to seven occupants.
He noted, “The seven-seater is powered by a 2.0-litre Smartstream petrol engine producing approximately 159 horsepower and 191Nm of torque. Automatic variants feature a six-speed transmission, while its 2,760mm wheelbase supports a spacious cabin.
“Convenience features available across selected variants include an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, smartphone connectivity, rear air-conditioning vents, keyless entry and push-button start. Higher specifications may also offer ventilated front seats, leather-appointed upholstery, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof.”
Beyond the vehicles’ features, Vashisht said the company was focused on ensuring customers received support throughout ownership, including access to authorised dealerships, after-sales services and genuine spare parts.
“At Hyundai Motors Nigeria, our objective is not simply to introduce new vehicles but to deliver a complete ownership experience,” he said.
He described the Mufasa as an option for customers who value bold design, technology and dynamic performance, while the Grand Creta caters to families requiring additional seating and flexibility.
“Both models reflect our commitment to offering customers more choices, supported by our authorised dealership network, professional after-sales services and genuine spare parts. We remain focused on building long-term customer confidence in the Hyundai brand,” Vashisht said.
