Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has been nominated twice for Ajax’s Goal of The Month award for October 2026 after scoring four goals in six matches during the month.
His first nomination is for the goal against Atalanta in the UEFA Conference League on October 22.
Three minutes from time, he controlled a long pass from Youri Baas, got past a defender and calmly finished past the goalkeeper to put Ajax ahead.
The second is for his header in Ajax’s 1-0 win over AZ Alkmaar in the Eredivisie on Saturday. He rose above defender Mees de Wit to meet Abdellah Ouazane’s cross in the ninth minute and powered the ball into the net.
The 25-year-old faces tough competition as Ouazane also has two nominations, while Davy Klaassen, Leo Salazar, Abdoulaye Camara and Naoufal Mouslim complete the shortlist.

The win over AZ was Ajax’s fourth in a row under coach Michel Sanchez and moved them to within a point of leaders Feyenoord.
Arokodare told ESPN afterwards that the team needed to read the game better without the ball.
“Sometimes you have to understand when to press. Sometimes you have to know that you are not dominating the match, and then you need to be in position,” he said.
Arokodare joined Ajax on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in July, with an option for a permanent move.
