Bayer Leverkusen have left Victor Boniface out of their Europa League squad for the trip to Greece, choosing Jonas Hofmann to replace the injured Martin Terrier, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The club were allowed to change their European squad after Terrier suffered a serious muscular injury in last Thursday’s 4-0 win over Lech Poznan. The French forward is expected to be out until December.
Hofmann will travel for Thursday’s Europa League tie against OFI Crete.
The decision is another setback for Boniface, who has struggled to establish himself since returning from Bremen.
The 25-year-old has made only one appearance this season, playing five minutes and setting up a goal in the opening-day 3-2 defeat to newly promoted SV Elversberg. He has not featured since under new head coach Carles Martinez.

His place in the attack is also crowded, with Patrik Schick ahead of him and Christian Kofane currently injured.
Boniface drew attention during the 4-3 win over Mainz 05 when he left the stadium before the final whistle, frustrated at not being used. He later admitted his mistake, but the incident did not help his standing.
Martinez said he did not notice it during the game. “If that is what happened, we will speak to him,” he said.
Boniface was also linked with a sale in January 2025, but a €70m move to Al-Nassr collapsed at the final hurdle.
