Singer, Adekunle Gold, through his foundation, has partnered with global financial platform, Pesa, to kick off a $20,000 initiative aimed at supporting organisations working to improve the lives of people living with sickle cell disease.

The programme, tagged “We’re Not Done: AG Foundation Sickle Cell Impact Initiative”, will provide funding to selected organisations to strengthen their work in healthcare access, patient support, education, awareness and advocacy.

According to a statement announcing the initiative, the inaugural funding will support four organisations alongside the Adekunle Gold Foundation: Sickle Cell Advocacy Management Initiative in Nigeria, Not Just You in Canada, Sickle Life in Ghana and It Takes A Village in the United Kingdom.

The funding is expected to help the beneficiaries strengthen existing programmes, expand their reach and improve support for people living with the condition.

Gold, who has spoken publicly about living with sickle cell disease, said the initiative was designed to translate awareness into practical support for affected individuals and families.

He said, “We’re Not Done is about turning awareness into action. There are incredible organisations working every day to improve the lives of people living with sickle cell, and together with Pesa, we want to give them more resources to do that work and reach even more people.”
