Development stakeholders in Iseyin, Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State, have vowed to support only candidates with visible track records in the 2027 general elections, advocating for purposeful leadership and sincere representation come 2027.
The stakeholders, in a communique issued and jointly signed by the President of Ebedi Frontliners, Iseyin, Olusegun Adeleke, and the Secretary, Segun Fasasi, after their meeting at the Palace of Aseyin of Iseyinland, Oba Sefiu Adeyeri, on Saturday, admonished Iseyin people to vote only candidates who would not reverse the tempo of growth and progress, witnessed by the residents.
They said, “We have assembled the stakeholders today (Saturday) to discuss the fate of Iseyin in the last several years, under several federal and state administrations, as well as its future. We realised the fact that purposeful leadership, sincere representation and voting for people with track records catapult development of a people than belonging to a ruling political party.
“Our people have been sensitised not to vote parties, but individuals with good deeds. This means that our vote will cut across parties in Iseyin. So, we have vowed to support only candidates with visible track records in the 2027 general elections.”
The stakeholders further charged them to beware of politicians who might jeopardise the growth of the town, urging them to vote for people with impeccable characters that would build on the legacy projects presently sited in the town.
They, therefore, announced that the second leg of the meeting would hold before the general election in January and February, 2027.
In his remark, which was delivered by the Head, Aseyin Royal Family, Oyeyemi Oyebola, the Aseyin of Iseyin urged “Iseyin voters to shun thuggery and violence before, during and after the coming elections, as development and growth cannot be achieved under a violent environment.”
