The Iyaloja-General, Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, has set a target of 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, mobilising market women, traders, artisans and civil society groups for a rally in Abuja on Thursday.

The mobilisation drive, which organisers say will draw on grassroots networks across the country, includes a pledge by the Lagos chapter to deliver one million votes for the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Tinubu-Ojo is coordinating the rally scheduled for October 29 as supporters of the Tinubu administration begin efforts to organise market associations and informal-sector workers ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In Lagos, the state coordinator, Ade Jombo, is leading outreach to traders, artisans and community associations, particularly along the Ikeja–Iyana Ipaja trading corridor, to mobilise participants for the Abuja gathering.

Organisers say the Lagos mobilisation structure is intended to serve as a model for coordinators in other states, using market associations and local trade networks to reach voters in commercial centres and communities.

Addressing state leaders and union delegates, Tinubu-Ojo said reaching the 10-million-vote target would require systematic mobilisation and reliable communication among participating groups.

She urged eligible members of the trading community to verify their voter registration status, stressing the need to ensure that political support translates into valid votes at the polls.

Tinubu-Ojo also called on participating groups to comply with public-safety regulations and work with law enforcement agencies to ensure an orderly rally.

Organisers said preparations were underway for interstate transport, convoy routes and departure arrangements for delegates travelling to Abuja.
