Two youths were arrested with 28.49 grams of suspected MDMA reportedly kept for sale near the Government Medical College Hospital here on Friday (October 23).
The accused are Abdul Mashood P.T., 22, of Vengeri and P. Libin, 27, of Athani in Atholi. A team from the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Jeevan George, and the Medical College police arrested them near an empty building close to the new casualty block of the hospital.
According to the police, Mashood had been released on bail less than two months ago in an MDMA seizure case in Wayanad. The police had been monitoring him for nearly a month following information that he had been procuring drugs from multiple sources and selling them in the city. Libin had also been involved in a drug-related case, the police said.
