BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran on Tuesday (October 27, 2026) urged the Tamil Nadu government to repair the potholes on the Palar bridge in Sevilimedu near Kancheepuram and conduct a structural safety assessment, alleging administrative negligence.
In a social media post, Mr. Nagenthran said the dangerous potholes on the bridge posed a risk to schoolchildren and members of the public. He also claimed that the bridge shook dangerously when heavy vehicles passed over it and alleged that the TVK-led government had failed to act despite repeated complaints.
The BJP leader criticised Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, alleging that his government had failed to ensure even the basic safety of public transport infrastructure despite its promises of change and new politics.
