The government has issued orders removing I. Riaz as the Superintendent of SAT Hospital.

Susan Uthup, Professor and Head of Paediatric Nephrology has been given the charge of the Superintendent

While there is much speculation that the recent controversy that broke out over the SMA drug distribution and which died down quietly could have led to Dr. Riaz being removed, sources said that replacing him was a political decision taken by the government.
