A protest was held outside the Mysuru palace on Thursday condemning the remarks made by Mysuru district in-charge Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah regarding the erstwhile royal family of Mysuru.
The protest, organised by Mysuru Nagarika Vedike near Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple outside the North Gate of Mysuru palace, was also joined by BJP and JD(S) supporters.
The protesters, who raised slogans against Mr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, sought an unconditional apology from the Minister for allegedly slighting the erstwhile royal family.
The demonstration against Mr. Yathindra came a day after he defended his statement in response to remarks made by Ms. Pramoda Devi Wadiyar of the erstwhile Mysuru royal family and ruled out the possibility of tendering an apology.
