The ‘Pavitrotsavam’ (a sacred purification festival) for Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at the ‘Eguva’ (Upper) Ahobilam concluded on a grand note. Vedic hymns, special prayers, and various Vedic rituals marked the Pavitrotsavam festival, which was held from October 21 to 24.

The rituals performed strictly according to scriptural guidelines by temple priests and Vedic scholars offered a spiritual experience to the devotees. The ‘Purnahuti’ (the concluding sacrificial offering) and other Vedic ceremonies captivated the devotees.

The Pavitrotsavam proceedings for Sri Ahobila Narasimha Swamy concluded on Sunday around 2 a.m. Prayers were offered during the festival, seeking the Lord’s blessings for all people and the well-being of the entire world.

Meanwhile, ‘Ankurarpana’, a ceremonial inaugural ritual was held on Sunday evening, marking the commencement of the Pavitrotsavams at ‘Diguva’ (Lower Ahobilam) in the temple. Ankurarpana is the formal, scripturally-mandated beginning of the Pavitrotsavam festival. The ritual will be conducted by temple priests and Vedic scholars, accompanied by the chanting of Vedic hymns, the temple management said.
