Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday moved a resolution on the restoration of Statehood “in continuation of the 2000 autonomy resolution” and evoked protests from the Opposition BJP legislators, who tore the resolution, climbed the tables and opposed any move to discuss autonomy or Article 370 in the Assembly.

“In addition to the Resolutions passed by this House on 26th June 2000 and 6th November 2024, this House calls upon the Government of India for the immediate and urgent restoration of full Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and resolves that this Resolution be forwarded to Government of India,” reads the resolution moved by Mr. Abdullah in the Supplementary List of Business.
