A 42-year-old man was stabbed to death late Tuesday night following a dispute between two groups at Odumbra in Kozhikode district.
The victim has been identified as K.K. Baigesh. According to the preliminary police findings, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. during an altercation linked to a gathering involving alcohol consumption. Though some of the local residents rushed the injured man to the Kozhikode Government General Hospital in a car, he succumbed to his injuries.
The prime suspect, identified as Manesh from Thiruvannur, fled the scene but was apprehended near the Thiruvachira temple pond using mobile phone tracking.
Police source said a detailed investigation was under way based on forensic findings and CCTV evidence.
