Senior dental surgeon Dr. Sparsha Chowdary, an Independent candidate contesting for the Vizianagaram Mayor post said on Thursday that the root cause of health problems in the city was the open drainage system.
Releasing her manifesto, she said if elected Mayor she would focus on underground drainage system, sanitation and waste management.
“Transparent and corrupt free governance, road widening, promotion of tourism spots, effective public redressal system will also be given top priority,” she added.
Dr. Sparsha said she had not sought a ticket from any major political party, as the Constitution provides an opportunity to every citizen to contest elections independently.
She said that independent candidates have more freedom to execute their ideas and address public grievances quickly without any prejudices.
