Several areas in Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam districts witnessed intermittent drizzle on Wednesday under the influence of Cyclone Arnab.
A control room was set up at the Bhadrachalam sub-Collector’s office to respond to emergencies, which can be reached at 08743-232444.
Schools, colleges and Anganwadi centres in Bhadradri Kothagudem district remained closed as a precautionary measure.
Bhadrachalam Sub-Collector Mrinal Shreshtha reviewed cyclone preparedness with officials from the police, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), District Disaster Response Force (DDRF), and Fire Services Department on preparedness to ensure coordinated response measures.
He also visited vulnerable areas in the temple town to assess the situation.
