The Horticulture Department, along with The Naturalist School, is hosting Cubbon Walks on November 1 in Kannada, to mark Karnataka Rajyotsava.

Explanations about the statues, old trees, birds and animals that inhabit the park will be in Kannada.

The walk will begin at 7.30 a.m. and end at 9 a.m.

Nature guides take participants around the park on every Saturday and Sunday for one-and-a-hours.

A senior official from the Horticulture Department, said, “These guided walks were planned to be held in Kannada and English when it was launched. However, in the past few months, the number of people opting for walks in Kannada has drastically reduced.”

“The reason is that those who participate in the walk are mostly from other States and they prefer English. Those who opt for Kannada has reduced to less than 10 people in each batch,” he said.

Recently, the Cubbon Walks completed 100 walks and more than 2,000 have been part of it. The entry fee for adults is ₹200 and ₹50 for children above 10 years.
