The teachings of the Bhagavad Gita and India’s rich knowledge traditions offer valuable insights into ethical leadership, responsible decision-making and effective management in the contemporary world, Swami Sarveshananda of Chinmaya Mission said on Tuesday.
Addressing the inaugural session of a two-day national seminar on “Ethical Leadership and Management through the Lens of Bhagavad Gita for Sustainable Development towards Viksit Bharat @ 2047”, organised by the School of Management, Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (Deemed to be University), Vijayawada, he stressed the need to integrate ethical values into modern education and professional practices.
The dignitaries underscored the importance of integrity, accountability and responsible decision-making in building a progressive and sustainable nation, particularly at a time of rapid technological advancement and growing reliance on Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Swami Vedavyasapriya Maharaj highlighted the need to align business objectives with ethical values and sustainable development. He observed that globalisation, the Fourth Industrial Revolution and technological advancements had transformed the business environment, which had traditionally focused on profit maximisation.
The speakers emphasised that technology should complement human intelligence and ethical judgement rather than replace human responsibility. They also stressed the importance of quality education, skill enhancement, institutional development and inclusive growth in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
The programme was attended by Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education president M. Rajaiah, Vice-Chancellor P. Venkateswara Rao, Pro-Vice-Chancellor A.V. Ratna Prasad and Head of the Department of Management A. Sree Ram, besides faculty members, researchers and students.
