A man allegedly set fire to a motorcycle belonging to his estranged female friend’s brother-in-law after she refused to continue their relationship, in an incident reported within the Konanakunte Police Station limits.

The accused, identified as Nandan, had reportedly been in a relationship with the woman for the past three to four months after the two met on Instagram. However, she recently distanced herself from him for reasons that have not been disclosed.

The woman was staying at her younger sister’s house when Nandan allegedly arrived there on the night of October 19. He reportedly knocked on the door and demanded that the family send her outside. Fearing trouble, the family members did not open the door and instead called the police control room for help.

Angered by this, Nandan allegedly set fire to a two-wheeler parked outside the house. The motorcycle belonged to the woman’s brother-in-law, Sunil, and was gutted in the fire. Another vehicle parked nearby was also damaged.

Sunil subsequently filed a complaint with the Konanakunte police. The police registered a non-cognisable report (NCR) and are investigating the incident.
